1996 NAUTOR SWAN 44 “SKYLARK”

The Frers designed Swan 44 MkII is arguably the best Swan for family sailing. Not too big to handle, but big enough to provide a solid ride at sea with comfortable motion. The Mk II’s have a good-sized cockpit and great access to below behind the shelter of a dodger. These boats are known for their exceptional build.

Completed in 1996, Skylark has been well cared for by her past knowledgeable owner for 22 years. The boat was day sailed on San Francisco bay and berthed in Sausalito. Her interior is pristine, new engine in 2022 with very low hours, rudder bearings replaced, batteries replaced. All work done by KKMI. The boat was sailed down to Newport Beach in the fall of 2023. Everything worked on the boat, from shower sump pumps to freezer and fridge, FW pumps, nav. equipment, etc. The boat was sailed offwind from Pt. Conception to Malibu in 30kts of wind and then reached from Long Beach to Newport in 30kts. Steering was smooth, the dodger was appreciated, and the ride was fast and comfortable. Her interior is without scratch in the teak and holly floorboards, nor any of the bulkheads. There are two good-sized heads with showers, forward and aft double cabins, and a large main salon. The galley is well-appointed and the nav station and panel are well done as you would expect from Swan.

The 44 MkII is ideal for coastal cruising or for a voyage to the Marquesas.
